Tried to post this on your blog, but was having difficulty.


Jim, You are a great man, better than most. Your voice has been heard. You ran a clean and honest campaign, and have encouraged many in the community to get involved. You are very respected for that and for the fact that you are a representative for the people. You certainly brought to light numerous issues which are in need of attention. Those of us who stood behind you always will. Others are now eager to help create a positive change and I truly hope the community continues to move forward for the good of the people, with the much needed push they got from you. Sincerely,PA

The Election Is Over!

Well, the votes have been cast and it appears at least now, that the voters who voted want Mr. Lopez for another four years.

I am proud of the clean campaign I ran.

I enjoyed meeting so many new people.

I listened to your ideas and concerns.

I made new friends.

I learned alot about the 'politics' of Key West.

I encourage you to hold firm and hold to task your elected officials. Your continuous input is critical to our way of government.

This is the last entry for this blog, however I will be creating another blog and will put the link here.

MY PLATFORM

I have always been all about "Be A Part Of Positive Change"

It is on all of my printed materials and signage. I also bought locally from Solaris Hill Design Group, T Shirt Factory and Eye Catcher Designs.

+ I will be RESPONSIVE to the needs and issues of our Community.

+ Since I VALUE YOUR INPUT, I will HOLD DISTRICT 6 FORUMS, open to everyone, on the first Monday of each month at 5pm at Square One Restaurant. 1075 Duval Street. Plenty of parking and in the center of District 6.

+ The people need a Commissioner that is FAIR and OPEN TO EVERYONE. I will be ACCESSIBLE to you at any time.

+ I will INVOLVE the entire Community through Job Training Programs and Resources for Employment.

+ I will PROMOTE SAFETY on the streets with increased Foot and Bike Patrols.

As your neighbor, I am 51 years old, a Key West resident since 1999, a homeowner since 2001, and organizer for the National Missing Children and Adults fundraiser in 2000 (which raised over $40,000 and registered over 120 individuals).

I am proud of my record of donating time, money and resources to Aids Help, the Key West GLCC, the Key West Business Guild, and the Key West Film Society.

I am actively involved in our Community as a member of the Key West Business Guild, GLEE, Hometown PAC !, The BCCLT, The Human Rights Campaign, Equality Florida, Lambda Democrats and the Florida GLBT Democratic Club.

I sincerely value your input. Good government cannot exist without leaders listening to the voters! I pledge to remain accessible to your needs, ideas and concerns. Join me so we can all "be a part of positive change in Key West!

Solaris Hill Falls Short

Today's Solaris Hill, with regard to this candidate, missed the point.

Mark Howell has known me for a long time, has attended forums where I was questioned, has heard my platform. Today's article however, seems he did not listen. If you are reading this blog, thank you.

My blog address was not included in Mr. Howell's article. He did, however, list two blog sites, one is a blog site that of my opponents 'helper', or 'whatever the title today'. A mix of lies and half truths, with intent to misinform and stray away from the real issues. It has prompted loads of calls to me for clarification on each item, which I guess is a good thing!

Any opportunity to set the record straight with the correct facts is a good thing. Thank you to all who have called me, stopped me on the streets and continue to do so. It proves the people want the truth, not innuendo and fairy tales.

The recent adverts in Conch Color and KWTN have also had a wonderfully positive effect. I guess I should thank the Lopez crew! It was actually good to show all of you who called and came over, the other five homes that people just like me live in. Quite a different 'fable' than those published and mailed. Virginia and Howe, 222 Olivia and 901 Emma.

Saturday With The Southernmost Seventh Day Adventist Church

A heartfelt thanks to the wonderful lady who invited me to attend Saturday's service!

What a wonderful welcome and spirit! The sermon was on GIANTS. You know the David and Goliath kind. If you know me, you know that I am a man of faith and the sermon was right on for the moment and the events in my life.

I have consistantly taken the high road and will continue to do so going forward. Lies, innuendo and half truths are just that. They do not require a response.

I continue to stay focused on YOU, the people. I continue to listen to YOU the people. Keep calling me! Keep stopping me in the streets and keep the dialogue flowing. This is how we learn the truth, heal and create real change. Positive change.
